Yaesu ft710 vs ftdx10 - Yaesu is not discontinuing the FTdx10. From what I've read, the 710 was the next logical step in upgrading the HF product line. The dx101 replaced the dx5000. The dx10 replaced the dx3000. The FT710 replaces the dx1200. All those older models were designs from a decade or more ago.

I had seen some ad's for this new FT710 which looks like a new lower cost version of the FTDX10, maybe it might be directly competitive with the 7300 but with some added features that are NOT on the 7300 but many wish these features to be added. I like my FTDX10 but don't use all the features and wish it had better ergonomics, and was a bit cheaper. So the 710 sounds good. At least as good as a 7300. It's no hybrid but it is a newer SDR design. Only downside is Icom have superior menus in my opinion..
